EDIH “DIH of Moldova” Represents the Republic of Moldova at EDIH Summit 2026 in Brussels, the Flagship Event of the European Digital Innovation Hub Network

EDIH Summit 2026 is held under the theme “Strengthening the AI Innovation Ecosystem”, focusing on how Europe can accelerate the adoption of artificial intelligence by small and medium-sized enterprises and public institutions. The summit agenda includes sessions dedicated to artificial intelligence, AI Factories, European Testing and Experimentation Facilities (TEFs), innovation financing, digital skills development, and strengthening cooperation among European hubs.

EDIH “DIH of Moldova” is represented in Brussels by Ion Bodrug, President of ACETI and Coordinator of the Hub, and Mircea Petic, Executive Director of ACETI and EDIH Process Manager.

The Republic of Moldova Engaged in the European Dialogue on the Future of EDIHs

A key element of the Republic of Moldova’s delegation participation is the workshop “New EDIH Frontiers: From Capabilities to Collaboration in Associated Countries”, dedicated to the role and contribution of Digital Innovation Hubs from countries associated with the Digital Europe Programme.

The workshop aims to showcase the capabilities, services, and concrete examples of technologies and solutions developed by EDIHs from associated countries, while promoting new collaboration opportunities and joint projects at the European level.

During this session, Mircea Petic participates as a speaker alongside experts and representatives of leading organizations from the European innovation and digitalization ecosystem, including Digital Innovation Zone (Romania), Verlab Institute (Bosnia and Herzegovina), Science Technology Park Belgrade (Serbia), 28DIGITAL (Hungary), InnDIH Valencia (Spain), as well as representatives of the European Commission, GIZ, and the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization of the Republic of Moldova.

During the workshop, Mircea Petic highlighted the importance of cross-border cooperation between European Digital Innovation Hubs, presenting the experience of EDIH “DIH of Moldova” in developing international partnerships. He presented the Cross-Border Digital Innovation Hub (xDIH) project, implemented together with partners from the Republic of Moldova and Romania, as an example of an initiative contributing to the development of shared innovation infrastructure and the strengthening of digital ecosystems on both sides of the Prut River.

An Opportunity to Strengthen European Partnerships

Participation in EDIH Summit 2026 provides EDIH “DIH of Moldova” with the opportunity to strengthen cooperation with other European hubs, identify new international collaboration opportunities, and promote available services for SMEs and public institutions in the Republic of Moldova.

At the same time, the summit serves as an important platform for exchanging best practices on artificial intelligence adoption, developing innovation ecosystems, and implementing new European digitalization support instruments. Participants discuss how EDIHs can facilitate access to expertise, testing infrastructures, funding, and the skills required for organizations to adopt emerging technologies.

Participation in EDIH Summit 2026 confirms the active integration of EDIH “DIH of Moldova” into the European Digital Innovation Hub network and its role as a facilitator of digital transformation for the business environment and public sector of the Republic of Moldova.
